What's new in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.0

ArcGIS Enterprise 11.0 introduces new features for data management and administration, updates across applications, and enhanced functionality throughout the product. This page highlights some of the new features available at 11.0 and includes links to additional information for specific components and functionality.

Before upgrading to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.0, review all retirement notices included in this release:

Each notice includes a recommended alternative to the retired feature or workflow, which may include requirements to recreate existing services, SOEs and SOIs, or apps after upgrading.

It is recommended that you review the deprecation notice to determine if your hardware and software components are still compatible with version 11.0 and to see a list of functionality that has been deprecated.

Service webhooks (beta)

Service webhooks for geoprocessing and feature services are available as a beta feature. While in beta, these features may not be feature complete and may have known performance or quality issues. To receive limited assistance with service webhooks, and to leave feedback on their functionality, refer to their dedicated Early Adopter Community (EAP) site. While in beta, service webhooks will not be supported by Esri Technical Support.

ArcGIS Deep Learning Studio

ArcGIS Deep Learning Studio is a new app available in ArcGIS Enterprise. It provides a focused user experience to extract information out of imagery and share it with the organization. This app allows you to perform an end-to-end workflow which includes capturing training data, training a model, and running inferencing. It also provides flexibility to perform individual steps when you have a custom workflow. With this app, you can:

  • Manage deep learning projects with a focused experience for object detection, pixel classification, or object classification.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to collect and review training samples.
  • Create and manage image chips from training samples or register existing image chips.
  • Train one or more iterations of a model with a guided user experience and compare training results.
  • Run inferencing based on the project or from Deep Learning Packages (DLPKs) available in your organization.

Review each notice below and determine whether they impact your organization's workflows.

End of support for ArcMap-based workflows

At this release, ArcMap-based workflows are no longer supported in ArcGIS Enterprise. The 11.0 software includes ArcGIS Pro- based runtime and does not include ArcMap-based runtime.

This change may impact your workflows as it means the following are no longer supported:

  • Install ArcMap on the same machine as ArcGIS Server 11.0
  • Use ArcMap to publish services (including ArcPy based in ArcMap) to ArcGIS Server sites
  • Use ArcGIS Server Manager to publish an .sd file that originated from ArcMap
  • Build or consume ArcObjects SOEs and SOIs
  • Administer or publish services from ArcMap to ArcGIS Server 11.0
  • Start services that were created from ArcMap-based runtime

System requirements

Windows Server 2012 is no longer supported with ArcGIS Enterprise. For additional details regarding supported operating systems, see System requirements topics.

Support for .NET framework-based extensions built with ArcGIS Enterprise SDK

ArcGIS Pro 3.0 introduces support for .NET 6.0. To stay in sync with this change, the ArcGIS Enterprise SDK also requires .NET 6.0 and has removed support for SOEs/SOIs built using 4.8 and earlier versions of the .NET Framework. Learn more in the ArcGIS Enterprise SDK .NET guide.

ArcGIS Enterprise on Kubernetes

ArcGIS Enterprise on Kubernetes is a cloud-native deployment option for ArcGIS Enterprise. It is available alongside Windows and Linux deployment options. It delivers ArcGIS Enterprise in a containerized architecture, running in either your organization's Kubernetes platform or your cloud provider's Kubernetes service.
