Description:  The Upper Brushy Creek Water Control and Improvement District intends to revise the Lake Creek watershed flood hazard information generally located in the City of Round Rock and Williamson County unincorporated areas. The flood hazard revisions are proposed as part of Conditional Letter of Map Revision (CLOMR) for a new dam on Lake Creek as reviewed and authorized for publication by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Specifically, the flood hazard information will be revised for three creeks: 1) Lake Creek - from a point approximately 0.46 stream miles west of the O’Connor Drive bridge over Lake Creek to the confluence of Lake Creek with Brushy Creek; 2.) Brushy Creek – from approximately 920 feet northeast of the intersection of A.W. Grimes Blvd. and Creek Ridge Blvd. to just upstream (west) of the confluence of Brushy Creek with Dry Branch; 3.) Rattan Creek – from just downstream of Dam No. 9, located northeast of O’Connor Drive and SH45 intersection, to the confluence of Rattan Creek with Lake Creek. Once the project is complete, a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) request will be submitted that will, in part, revise the following flood hazards along the impacted flooding sources. 1.) the floodway shall widen and narrow; 2.) the 1% annual chance water surface elevations shall increase and decrease; and 3.) the 1% annual chance floodplain shall widen and narrow. The data on this interactive map illustrates the proposed changes to the effective regulatory floodplains shown on the current FIRM panels after the project is constructed. This data displays the proposed increases and decreases to the regulatory floodplains, which are the 1% annual chance storm flood extents commonly referred to as the 100-year floodplains.
